What is a ZO Skinhealth 3 Step Peel?


A potent peel that provides epidermal exfoliation and boosts skin renewal for longer-lasting benefits. Peeling is mild, with minimal to no downtime. Designed to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, acne scarring, rough texture, large pores and dullness. This peel promotes softer, smoother, firmer looking skin.


Contraindications:
• Active herpes simplex or warts in the area to be treated • Wounded or sunburned in the area to be treated
• Currently pregnant or breastfeeding
• History of radiation therapy in the area to be treated

• Allergies to salicylates

Is it Safe For All Skin Types?

Yes it is Indicated for all skin types and skin color

How Long is the Treatment and What is the Down Time?

The treatment takes 30 minutes. It takes about 48hrs to start peeling which lasts about 3-5 days, rarely it may take longer.

Patient Pre-Peel Instructions

-Pre-condition using a ZO® program consisting of tretinoin or a 0.5% or higher retinol product 4-6 weeks prior to having the peel.
-If history of herpes infection, start an anti-viral medication 1 day prior to the peel and continue according to the full indicated treatment cycle
-Discontinue the use of retinoids, retinol and other products that can cause dryness and irritation to the skin (i.e. AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide) 3-4 days prior to the peel
-Avoid laser hair removal, electrolysis, waxing and the use of depilatory creams for 5-7 days prior to the peel
-Avoid having the peel until skin has completely healed from any procedures

The Day of Your Peel

Step 1: Your Skin Will Be Cleansed with a Gentle Cleanser for at least 1 minute

Step 2: Your Skin Will Be Degreased with 70% Alcohol

Step 3.1: The Peel Solution will be applied evenly using a non-woven pad. The peeling step is done when the entire solution (8 mL) is applied.

Step 3.2: Stimulation with Retinol Crème Complex One 2.5 g packet of the Retinol Crème Complex will be applied and massage until totally absorbed.

Step 3.3: Hydration + Calming with Hydrating Crème A layer of Hydrating Crème is applied after the first application of the Retinol Crème Complex. This extinguishes any discomfort. The patient should avoid washing the face for at least 5 hours after the peel procedure, preferably waiting until the next morning.

 Step 4: Protect with Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50 (Optional) If you will be exposed to direct sun exposure immediately following the peel. An even application of Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50 is gently applied to the skin.

At Home Protocol

Try Not to Wash Your Face Until the Next Morning
The day after the peel:
1.
Wash the face or treated area with the cleanser from your daily ZO® program or Gentle Cleanser. Wash face gently for 30-40 seconds. Rinse and pat dry.
2. Apply Entire Packet of Retinol Crème Complex (1 packet - 2.5 g) evenly to the skin. Massage until totally absorbed.
3. Apply a thin layer of Hydrating Crème after applying the Retinol Crème Complex. Apply up to 3 times
daily as needed. After the skin is healed, return to your daily ZO® program.

Anticipated Reaction

-Redness, stinging, itching, mild swelling, flaking and peeling are expected and may vary in intensity for each individual
-Exfoliation generally begins 2-3 days after treatment and ends by day 5

Avoid

-Avoid rubbing, scratching or peeling/picking the skin with your fingers while healing.
-Use scissors to clip hanging skin
-Avoid direct sun exposure until the skin has completely healed

-Besides the Retinol Crème Complex, avoid the use alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, benzoyl
peroxide, retinoids and other potentially irritating products until the skin is healed
-Avoid running water directly on your face while showering; strenuous exercise and sweating until skin is healed
-Avoid procedures on face and areas treated until skin is fully healed
